Testa Construction is dedicated to the ever increasing use of Green Building methods and requirements. As environmental expectations evolve not only globally but also here in our local community, we as a construction firm are committed to adapting with them.
LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a building rating system developed by USGBC (United States Green Building Council). When the LEED® criteria is followed through the design and building process, the negative impacts left from construction and daily use are greatly reduced. The five areas of focus in terms of both the environment and it’s residents are as follows:
- Sustainable site development
- Water savings
- Energy savings and renewable power
- Material and resource conservation
The GBCI (Green Building Certification Institute) administers credentialing programs for Green Building Practices. Here at Testa Construction, we have a LEED® Accredited Professional on staff who has been trained in the proven strategies for increasing and measuring the performance of buildings and communities. These improvements are defined by industry systems such as the LEED® Green Building Rating Systems™.
We have completed several projects that were designed and constructed according to Green Building principles. One such project is the Hydrogen Fuel Cell constructed for the East Rochester School District.
